Zines!

We’ve been busy over in the Online Art Group with Gemma Dunnell exploring the wonderful world of zines! Zines (pronounced ‘zeens’) are DIY mini magazines or pamphlets that come in so many different shapes, sizes, and forms. Just like our previous ‘sketchbook sessions’ with Gemma last year, we’ve been approaching making things that don’t need to be ‘good’ or ‘perfect’ – instead putting an emphasis on fun and play!

Each week we’re exploring a new approach to zine making, and in March and April we’ve already had a go at making our own journey maps and mini zines. Experimenting with different formats, sizes, mediums and inspirations – from documenting imaginary walks through to making little compendiums of miniature things.
