We have been immersed in an exciting world of texture and technique in the Online Art Group during our first two sessions with artist Sally Wetherall. From making our own egg tempura, to resist, relief and collagraph printing, building new surfaces and compositions, with layering and mark making techniques peppered in between.

We continue looking to nature as our inspiration, taking composition tips from coastal seascapes and bringing nature right into the process of making by using foraged leaves and foliage as part of our printmaking. 

It’s been such a great insight into how accessible and achievable printmaking can be, regardless of what materials you have to hand, and is really opening our eyes into new ways of integrating that with other techniques as we go along.

Looking forward to two more sessions with Sally in July, before Gary Mills returns for September and October.
