Turn of the Seasons

As the seasons fully begin to turn, and we leave winter behind, we have also sadly reached the end of our most recent bank of sessions with Sara Dudman. Thank you Sara for the joy and inspiration of your sessions over the last 3 months! Also a reminder that if any group members missed a live session, visit the Facebook group to see our library of recordings to enjoy at a time that suits you.

At the beginning of March we explored the harmonies and contrasts of all the shapes and colours of the new season’s flowers in our gardens, plant pots, windowsills, parks and woodlands. Approaching these busier and more complex compositions through very relaxed step by step approaches with charcoal and various kinds of paint, we focused on the interplay between the different parts.

Seeing our participants approach these bold and complex subjects with such confidence was such a wonderful example of how much we’ve all grown along with Sara during these sessions.

For our final hurrah we turned to the emblem of spring itself – Daffodils. We revisited all the themes explored in previous sessions, and looked at how to apply them to different types of flowers and subjects to inspire and empower our wonderful group – for future sessions, and far beyond.
