We’ve really been basking in those first few glimpses of spring in the Online Art Group over the past month with Sara Dudman. We turned our attention to the powerhouses of this inter-seasonal time – the Snowdrops. Honing skills and techniques built up over the past few weeks and experimenting with different approaches including working from photographs and comparing this to real life subjects; learning to better observe and in turn create more free and emotive artworks.

Then we were awash with bright beautiful colour as we focused on the luscious curves and crinkles of camellias, creating a series of paint sketches of individual blooms, rather than the sometimes overwhelming landscape of the whole plant or composition.
