Thank you to Sara… until 2024

For our final two sessions with the wonderful Sara Dudman we celebrated the last moments of summer with some beautiful Blooms and Berries!

We began with exploring negative and positive spaces and shapes around cheerful Marguerites, along with different colour choices and layering techniques to enhance and contrast. We then brought all of that knowledge into our final session where Sara delved into her own practice of found and foraged pigments, using some of the bountiful blackberries that are lining our hedgerows as both inspiration and material with some vibrant blackberry ink. Sara walked us through the differences between ink, pigment and paint, as well as demonstrating the magical colour changes that come with using natural pigments.

On behalf of all of us at SAW and all of our brilliant Online Art Group Participants we’d like to say a huge thank you to Sara for this amazing bank of sessions. She will be joining us again in 2024 and we can’t wait to welcome her back, but in the meantime we are so excited to introduce you to our new artist who will be with us from October all the way through to Christmas – stay tuned!
